2. What is your company's main theme for KOREA OCEAN EXPO, and which core capabilities or technologies would you like to highlight the most?

The main theme of KAI at this exhibition is ‘The Future of K-Maritime Security Safe Seas Protected by Surion’. KAI will showcase how indigenously made helicopters are innovating the safety and maritime security of our seas, led by the Korea Coast Guard helicopter “White Eagle”, which is a key asset in protecting the maritime sovereignty of the Republic of Korea. The biggest purpose of this participation is to showcase a collection of advanced technologies that save people’s lives, not just to exhibit a model of the Korea Coast Guard helicopter.

3. Please introduce your products used by the Korea Coast Guard or government agencies, or those under development or intended for supply.

The Surion has been recognized for its excellent performance and mission capabilities in the domestic utility helicopter market, and has been delivered to various agencies such as the Korea Coast Guard, the National Police Agency, the Korea Forest Service, and the National Fire Agency. Among them, the White Eagle helicopter used by the Korea Coast Guard possesses ‘overwhelming search and rescue capabilities.’ The White Eagle’s high-performance search radar can track hundreds of targets simultaneously even in bad weather such as fog or heavy rain, making it excellent at finding distressed vessels or illegal fishing boats in vast sea areas. In addition, it maximizes search efficiency with state-of-the-art equipment such as thermal imaging cameras and can secure the precious golden time for safety.

4. What are the overseas export prospects and strategies for the Surion series, including the White Eagle?

KAI is challenging the export market based on its maritime mission capabilities accumulated and verified through the White Eagle. In particular, Southeast Asian countries such as the Philippines are showing great interest in package models that bundle follow-on support and system upgrades in connection with aircraft exports. This response can be said to be a representative “win-win” strategy in that future aircraft exports in that future aircraft exports are not simply sales but create new businesses along with continuous customer support until the aircraft retires after completing its mission.
