Since the establishment of Kumsan Satellite Service Center in 1970, Korea’s first satellite ground station, kt sat has been leading the Korea’s broadcasting communication industry as the Korea’s sole satellite communication operator.

kt sat(wholly owned by KT Corp, the No.1 telecommunication service provider in Korea), provides services using the resources of the group as being a member of KT group. With two satellite launches in 2017, coverage became wider and able to provide differentiated satellite communication services to global customers and partners.

KT SAT provides unlimited internet communication at sea through XWAVE (MVSAT service) and various ship solutions on land. As the sole satellite communication service provider in South Korea, we introduce customized maritime satellite communication services through Mugunghwa Satellite and offer tailored satellite communication solutions for our customers. We are participating in this exhibition to enhance customer value by providing seamless communication both on land and at sea.

KT SAT is showcasing three major solutions this time.

First, we have a satellite communication solution featuring dual-band satellite antennas for ships that can use both Ka-band and Ku-band, as well as satellite antennas for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), allowing for the transmission of reconnaissance data and mission orders from long distances.

Secondly, we are presenting a hybrid solution that combines heterogeneous communication networks to ensure uninterrupted connectivity. This solution fully combines the bandwidth of various communication networks, providing high transmission speeds, and allows for seamless switching between networks in case of network disconnection.

The final solution is the Space Data service, which provides Earth observation satellite EO/IR image data and SAR image data, as well as high-value-added data obtained through post-analysis of the data to customers.
