🚩Booth No. K101

1. Please introduce your company.

Kangnam is a Busan-based shipyard specializing in small-to-medium special-purpose vessels. With extensive experience and technical expertise, we build a wide range of vessels that support maritime safety and public services. Our portfolio includes FRP (Fiber-Reinforced Plastic) vessels, Coast Guard patrol vessels, high-speed passenger ferries, harbor pilot boats, Highspeed Combat Boats, and firefighting vessels. By supplying vessels to the Korea Coast Guard and other public agencies, we actively contribute to the development of Korea's maritime safety infrastructure. Beyond shipbuilding, we also provide maintenance and conversion services, with customized design and consistent quality at the core of what we do. In recent years, we have expanded into eco-friendly and electrically-propelled vessels, growing as a sustainable shipyard in a rapidly changing maritime industry.

Our goal at Kangnam is straightforward: deliver vessels that are safe and reliable. We will continue to draw on our accumulated expertise and hands-on experience to raise maritime safety standards in Korea.

2. What is your company's main theme for KOREA OCEAN EXPO, and which core capabilities or technologies would you like to highlight the most?

Our main theme for this exhibition is: 'Green Power, High Speed, Safer Seas.'

[Electric Propulsion Technology]

Kangnam has developed strong design and construction capabilities for electric propulsion vessels, responding to eco-friendly maritime policies and evolving global regulations. Our next-generation vessels offer low-noise, zero-emission, and high-efficiency operation, helping to improve the environment in ports and coastal areas. We are particularly well-positioned to deliver electric propulsion solutions optimized for both performance and cost-effectiveness, tailored for public agencies and port operations.

[Highspeed Combat Boat Construction]

Drawing on our deep experience in special-purpose shipbuilding, we build Highspeed Combat Boats and patrol vessels that combine speed and structural stability. Through refined hull form design, lightweight construction, and optimized propulsion performance, our vessels meet the demanding requirements of naval operations and rapid-response missions.

3. Please introduce your products used by the Korea Coast Guard or government agencies, or those under development or intended for supply.

Kangnam has a proven track record of building special-purpose vessels in active service with the ROK Navy and Korea Coast Guard. We have completed Mine Sweeper Hunter (MSH) construction and participated in the basic design of the next-generation MSH-II, establishing ourselves as a reliable name in mine countermeasure vessels. Our experience building Highspeed Combat Boats also demonstrates our capability to deliver the high-speed maneuverability needed for rapid-response missions. We have been a consistent supplier of 3,000-ton-class and 500-ton-class Coast Guard patrol vessels and 200-ton-class patrol boats, building a strong reputation for quality and reliability. Looking ahead, we are also working to incorporate unmanned surface vessels (USV) into our future lineup.

4. What is the main theme Kangnam has set for this exhibition?

Our main theme centers on the future of maritime safety, realized through eco-friendly electric propulsion technology and Highspeed Combat Boats. We aim to show how clean-energy vessels and rapid-response special-purpose craft can work together to create a safer and more sustainable maritime environment.

5. What are the core technologies you most want to highlight?

We are focusing on two key areas: electric propulsion technology and Highspeed Combat Boat construction. Our electric propulsion systems offer low noise, low vibration, and zero emissions, making them both environmentally friendly and cost-efficient to operate. Our Highspeed Combat Boats are built on lightweight construction and optimized hull design, delivering the performance needed for emergency response and special operations.

6. Which of your vessels are currently in service with the Navy or government agencies?

Kangnam has supplied a wide range of special-purpose vessels to the ROK Navy and Korea Coast Guard. Our MSH construction record and participation in the MSH-II basic design have established us as a trusted partner in mine countermeasure vessels. We have also delivered 3,000-ton-class and 500-ton-class Coast Guard patrol vessels, 200-ton-class patrol boats, and harbor pilot boats for the Busan Port Authority (BPA), all currently in active service.
